Just a Word

Just a word
Nothing more, nothing less
Can wield the power of a mighty sword
It can defend or it can destroy
It can foster hope or it can bring despair
It can give life or it can take it

With just a word the stars were hung
The sun was given it’s light
The world was set into motion
And the heavens were formed from dust

Just a word
Nothing more, nothing less
Holds a power unrealized
Tossed around like a wave of the sea
Given not a second thought
Of themselves insignificant
But given life by the meaning assigned
Just a word
Nothing more, nothing less
Just a word

Security

When the waves crash and the thunder pierces my ears
My soul is quiet, my mind is still
Under these Wings I am safe
I will not be moved
When the fire rages and takes the breath from my lungs
I am filled with peace
This Water is my life
I will not be moved
Unlike a leaf that is tossed about by the slightest of breeze
On this Rock I stand firm
 my feet are secure
 I will not be moved.
And when death comes like a thief in the night
My heart will not fear
My soul has been bought
And it cannot be moved.
